A very quick intro
I am a South African programmer currently working for Wolfram Research. I did my undergraduate in Information Engineering at the University of the Witwatersrand and I have just completed my MPhil in Advanced Computer Science at the University of Cambridge.
My masters’ dissertation was titled “Unsupervised automatic dataset repair” and focused on using probabilisitic machine learning methods to impute missing values in datasets. I was supervised by Zoubin Ghahramani and Christian Steinruecken.
My main interests are in probabilisitc deep learning (check out this great blog by Yarin Gal for a primer). I am hoping to start in PhD focusing on this topic in the next year or so.
I hope to start blogging here on a (semi-)regular basis, so check back here to see some of my thoughts on machine learning and computer programming in general.
